Please help our work by fundraising as a Volunteer Watering Ambassador for supplementary watering with a watering truck.

An inspiring number of people have joined our Volunteer Watering campaign, which was launched in mid-June as an unparalleled collaboration between the Municipality of Budapest, the BKM Főkert division, the 10 Million Trees Foundation, and the developers of the beeco eco-application to protect the young trees of the capital.

Thousands of beeco app downloads, countless buckets of water, and “sold-out” community watering events have shown that it is important for many people to keep the young trees alive, even though it is no small task to deliver at least 50 liters of water to the small trees each week.

Unfortunately, despite the thunderstorms and the easing of temperatures, the lack of moisture in the soil has reached dramatic levels.

Many of us are fighting shoulder to shoulder with great effort against the drought, but we see that it is now bordering on impossible to reach every tree often enough. The 10 Million Trees initiative is striving to provide life-giving water to those trees that are difficult for the public to access with watering trucks throughout the summer. We will continue until the end of September for sure, but if the weather demands, we will keep watering beyond that.
