1% for 10 Million Trees! – Amount of SZJA 1% offered in 2024: 4,091,000 HUF

This is a huge and very important feedback for us, as the 10 Million Trees Foundation received 4,091,000 HUF from this year’s 1% tax contribution.

We would like to personally thank all 380 people who designated us as beneficiaries!

From the donations we received in 2023, we planted a 1% forest in Mátyásföld, which was severely tested by this year’s exceptionally hot summer.

Fortunately, we had resources left and set aside for replacing the drying plants. From the 2024 donations, we planted a pasture-forest in Bezeréd. This was a continuation of a project we had already started.

SZJA 1% – 2023

1% for 10 Million Trees! – Amount of SZJA 1% offered in 2023: 2,747,430 HUF

In 2023, we conducted a very successful 1% campaign, with the message “1% for 10 Million Trees!” and at that time, 2,747,430 HUF was received from the donations of 290 people for the 10 Million Trees Foundation.

The slogan will not change in 2024, but there is one important thing that perhaps few people know:

the amount received in 2023 could only be used in 2024!

And we have dedicated and will dedicate this fund created from the SZJA 1% donations to tree planting.

On March 2, 2024, we began the planting of our first 1% forest in Budapest, Mátyásföld, with the aim of creating a tradition, and with the help of our civil volunteers, we completed the planting of 2,700 forestry saplings the following weekend, on March 9.

As always, we keep our main goal in mind: to reforest using natural methods, always focusing on creating a mixed-species, native forest stand suitable for the site. The professional planting was supervised by Balázs Bozzay, forestry technician, tree care specialist, a member of the expert team of 10 Million Trees.

Thus, SZJA 1% donations become forests with the help of the 10 Million Trees community. 

We plant year after year, and the trees will grow, expanding with a new team of saplings each year.
