The Best Year: 2025

For some, 2025 may not have left the most favorable personal impression, but for us, the 10 Million Trees community, it was the best year in our history. We forged a very strong team in terms of quality, and our results reflect this. 

NATIONAL TREE PLANTING DAY – NEARLY 100,000 TREES PLANTED

This year marked the beginning of the National Tree Planting Day nationwide planting event series, during which we planted nearly 100,000 trees. Of course, this is not all, as we planted many more in the spring and during the autumn planting season, as usual.

Among them were several Miyawaki mini-forests, which we regularly report on the Miyawaki Hungary website. 

VOLUNTEER WATERING

Between planting periods, there is the nurturing season, during which we launched our Volunteer Watering program in the summer, which is innovative in every aspect: we developed the watering methodology not only for ourselves or the trees of the capital but also had a noticeable impact on many municipalities. 2025 was the year when the program of regular public space watering by responsible citizens began in Hungary. 

So, 2025 was a good year, even if our minds are filled with the world’s troubles and ailments. Despite the bad news coming from all directions, there is still a positive resonance for us. No matter how big the problems in the world are, no matter how threatening leaders appear on the horizon of humanity, no matter how frightening scenarios circulate about our collective future on the internet, when we add, divide, derive, and square everything, a reassuring certainty remains at the end of the equations. Namely, that PLANTING IS GOOD! 

YES, PLANTING IS GOOD!

It’s not only useful, necessary, and sensible, but planting, engaging with trees and nature, is good. Good because it’s normal. Because normality is an increasingly valuable asset in a world becoming abnormal. Good because it brings us together. 

Good because it brings us together with those who understand the spiritual and emotional reasons and essence of tree planting exactly as we do. And good because the tree is a monument to our actions, a unique living time capsule that, surpassing our human lifespan, sends a message about us to decades or even centuries that may only know the difficult situations threatening us now as historical facts. 

In this certainty, in the calm good feeling brought by certainty, we are preparing to cross from the best year to the best year. 

And we wish all 10 Million Trees members and our friends a Happy and Successful New Year rich in plantings and excelling in watering!
