Earth Month

It’s spring: 10 Million Trees is on the move, traveling across the country and planting in many places as usual. This spring, the organization is incorporating its plantings into a new celebration, Earth Month. Although they plant in many places and in many ways, the focus of Earth Month is on the specialty of 10 Million Trees, the

planting of Miyawaki urban mini-forests.

During these 30 days, among other things, they plan to create 4 new Miyawaki forests in Budapest from the One Tree Planted international tree-planting organization’s grant aimed at eliminating heat islands.

The highlight of the planting series is the planting of the Rákóczi Miyawaki forest, growing near the Pest bridgehead of the Rákóczi Bridge, with the professional contribution of Főkert, which will take place on April 23, 2023, starting at 10 AM, and is open to the public.

On this occasion, they will also hold a festive Open Day with a sapling distribution for residents, a playhouse, professional discussions about urban greening, livable, sustainable, shady cities, an eco-playhouse, and an environmentally conscious Greenager-10 Million Trees T-shirt sale.

“In addition to all this, of course, we are also planting with our long-standing partners, such as GreenGo , the Vígszínház ensemble, and others, planting in several districts of Budapest as well as in Bonyhád, Maglód, and Bátmonostor, and the list goes on. In the hope that our plantings will already lay the foundation for a more favorable and bearable environment for future life on Earth,” says Iván András Bojár, the organization’s leader.
