Trees help us, we help the trees, you help us!
The 10 Million Trees Foundation is turning four this year. We are a public benefit organization legally, and we very much hope, morally as well. We plant trees, establish forests and gardens. A lot.
Anyone following our activities through Facebook or our website knows exactly how much and how we do it. We are determined to plant 10 million trees. Partly by encouraging our fellow citizens: at least once in their lifetime, based on the principle of one person – one tree, to take responsibility for a single tree: plant it, care for it until it becomes self-sustaining. Or we take on the same task on their behalf. We are civilians, in every corner of the country. Observing the climate and biodiversity crisis, our belief grows stronger every day that the Earth needs our trees, and even more so, we humans do. For us, they not only sequester atmospheric carbon but also provide coolness, capture dust, soothe the soul, and preserve our dwindling groundwater. We live in mutual dependence: what we exhale, the tree converts the same carbon dioxide back into oxygen for us. It is our helper, and most importantly, the future of humanity, the assurance for the decades ahead for our children. What we parents can plant today will help our children in those decades when we are no longer with them in physical form.
In the coming days, along with me, several others, Lia Pokorny, Péter Geszti, Géza Röhrig, László Kollár-Klemencz, Pumped Gabo will also ask you to donate 1% of your tax to us, and with this, you too can help ensure that 10 million trees soon serve Life.
