Seeking 1,000 Good People!

The New Year is a time for resolutions. 

We are looking for 1,000 people to make a resolution to contribute regularly, not more than, 

just 1,000 HUF each month to support the goal of the 10 Million Trees Community: 

We aim to plant 10 million trees based on the principle of 1 person = 1 tree, so that every person living in our country has at least 1 tree.

1,000 HUF is not even half a pack of cigarettes 

1,000 HUF barely covers a proper breakfast 

1,000 HUF is two hours of parking in the city 

1,000 HUF is a cappuccino 

And 1,000 HUF can be a small tree in the Bezeréd pasture forest. 

If we find 1,000 good people, 12,000 trees will start growing and form forest patches composed of many tree species, providing shade and shelter from the wind for the native Carpathian grey cattle and other animals grazing there. 

Be one of them! Be the one who, as a New Year’s resolution, dedicates 1,000 HUF per month for a more livable future.

Why are we planting in Bezeréd?

The volunteer team of the 10 Million Trees Foundation visited the small cul-de-sac village in Zala County in the spring of 2023, where the community initiated the 2023 tree planting season by planting 2,500 native saplings.

Dani and Eszter moved to the tiny cul-de-sac village in 2017, where they initially grazed native Carpathian grey cattle on five hectares, and since last year, on an additional 12 hectares, they also keep goats, pigs, and chickens in the open air.

The tree belt established on the young farmers’ land, which is continuously expanded with further plantings, includes trees and shrubs sourced from domestic nurseries: sessile oak, Turkey oak, field elm, wild pear, wild apple, aspen, as well as blackthorn, hawthorn, and red dogwood.

The afforestation helps reduce erosion, improve rainfall retention, restore soil life, and provide habitats for animal and plant species and their communities, making the area more biodiverse and more resilient to increasingly extreme weather conditions than intensively used pastures.

We are looking for 1,000 good people who commit to contributing 1,000 HUF per month for a year to support this planting!
