National Tree Planting Day 2026 – Application FAQ

1. Who can apply?
Municipalities, municipal institutions, educational and social institutions, as well as civil organizations that plant on their own or managed/rented land. Political parties, political organizations, and civil organizations participating in political party campaigns cannot apply.

2. Can we apply in multiple categories?
Yes, an organization can submit applications in multiple categories, but a separate application must be prepared for each category, with a separate budget and project description.

3. Can the self-contribution be in-kind?
Yes. The self-contribution can be monetary or in-kind (e.g., volunteer work, provided machinery, compost, other tools). The in-kind contribution should be briefly presented in the budget and, if possible, indicated with an estimated value.

4. What happens if planting cannot be carried out on the planned day due to weather?
It is often said among gardeners that there is no bad weather, only inappropriate clothing. 🙂 We do not entirely agree with this, but we do not usually cancel planting due to a few millimeters of rain, and we expect applicants to proceed as long as it is reasonably feasible, not to cancel due to bad weather.
If it is no longer reasonably feasible, the planting day can be rescheduled within the reasonable timeframe specified in the grant agreement. Any changes must be communicated via email to 10 Million Trees.

5. Can we submit an application for an area we do not own?
Yes, but in such cases, the application must include written consent from the landowner or official manager, as well as a document (e.g., long-term lease agreement) that supports the legality of the usage.
If relevant, the cooperation agreement must also be attached.

6. How do we account for the costs?
Costs must be accounted for according to the rules specified in the grant agreement. The accounting will primarily focus on verifying the implementation of the project: we will definitely require a professional report and geotagged photos.

It is already certain that this will occur in two stages. To assess the results of the action day, we will definitely request photo uploads and basic data on the day of planting, followed by a detailed professional report with geotagged photos by May 31, according to the rules specified in the grant agreement.

7. What if we end up planting fewer trees than promised in the application?
Efforts should be made to implement the plans undertaken in the application within reasonable limits. The grant agreement will detail how to handle situations if this is not possible (e.g., modification, partial repayment, individual assessment).

8. Is it necessary to attach a separate communication plan?
Yes, we request a brief communication plan that includes:
– on which platforms (Facebook, Instagram, website, newsletter, local press, etc.),
– how many times you will report on the project.

9. How can we access the utility map?
After logging in through the Client Gateway, it can be downloaded for free on this page, after selecting the location and types of utilities:
