Afforestation in Monorierdő
The first landscape reconstruction tree planting in Monorierdő was carried out through the joint organization of the Monorierdő Municipality and the 10 Million Trees Foundation.
We planted 800 trees in a park-like arrangement on two 20×30 meter fenced areas offered by the local municipality.
As with our reforestation efforts in other parts of the country, we kept our main goal in mind here as well:
to reforest naturally or using methods very close to it, always focusing on creating a mixed-species, native forest stand suitable for the site.
In the past, sandy forest-steppe oak groves were found around Monorierdő.
Thank you for coming; it is no exaggeration to say that the entire village, young and old, took part in the planting. The municipality’s staff planted under the leadership of the mayor, the youngest placed cardboard sheets around the saplings, and there was a grandmother who contributed by bringing freshly baked doughnuts to keep our energy up for the 800 saplings planted.

A great start – we will continue in 2024! 🙂
